Livestock farming as the way to emancipation.

The Batwa, Burundi's indigenous people, understand how to live in harmony with nature rather than to destroy it. This fits with SEEF's appeal to "preserve the beauty of the earth and its habitants".

Together with its primary expert partner IPREBAD, SEEF provided technical and financial assistance for a goat breeding programme for Batwa young village mothers in the Matara area (Bururi). This will allow them

- to become more resilient in the first place.

- to reinforce healthcare and education later on.

Participants received (i) training and subsequently (ii) 56 goats for breeding purposes in two villages:

In the first village, a central goat shed was set up.  In the second village, micro sheds were build for individual households.

And of course a lot of fun !
